Role overview

COVID-19 negatively impacted micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), in order to support the chamber of commerce/market committee/anjuman e tajiran in the implementation of market safety and hygiene, we intend to conduct market safety and hygiene survey/assessment in three major markets of Quetta while one market will be assessed from Nushki or Pishin in collaboration with chamber of commerce/market committee/anjuman e tajiran. Based on the need assessment of MSMEs develop proposals for the support of market safety and hygiene and conduct assessment of market staff on COVID-19 mitigation measures. Conduct two awareness campaigns on safety measures in the main markets of Quetta and Nushki or Pishin. The consultant will be responsible;

• Engage with market committee, anjuman e tajiran and conducted rapid assessment with the respect to market safety and hygiene of three major markets in Quetta and one in Pishin or Nushki in collaboration with anjuman e tajiran and chamber of commerce
• Based on the need assessment develop four proposals to support the market safety and hygiene
• Execute the assessment and proposal development
• Conduct capacity building of market staff on COVID-19 mitigation measures
• Conduct two awareness campaigns on safety measures in the main market in Quetta, Nushki or Pishin

The services of a qualified consultant is required to conduct the MSMEs need assessment and develop reports based on the need assessment. The consultant will be responsible for data collection, analysis, reporting and presenting the findings and recommendations. The consultant will also help in the proposal development, conduct capacity building of market staff and execute two awareness campaigns on safety measures in the targeted markets.

Deliverables:

• Detailed work plan, data collection tools for approval by Program Team before data collection commences.
• Developed four rapid need assessments reports of MSMEs ( three in Quetta, one in Pishin or Noshki)
• Based on the need assessment of MSMEs developed four proposals for supporting the market safety and hygiene
• Developed report on capacity building of market staff on COVID-19 mitigation measure
• Developed report on the two awareness campaign in the targeted markets

Qualification:

• Master’s degree in Business, Commerce, Social Sciences, Economics, Agriculture, Livestock or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in SMEs need assessment, research, business plan development.
• Strong background and experience in proposal writing, data collection and analysis.
