Finance & Grants Officer

JOB SUMMARY:  

This position will be responsible to provide the financial management support to project.      

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all project sub-awards are well administered and implemented in compliance with the donor regulations and organization procedures.

• Preparation of budgets for different projects/sub-awards, review of financial reports submitted by the sub-awardees (BVA, GSP, cash request/projection) and other accounting reports as per donor requirements.

• Work closely with the Grants Coordinator & Finance Manager for Grants to develop and maintain standardized project sub-award administrative, monitoring, reporting and evaluation tracking tools.

• Oversee sub-award tracking, ensuring forward planning and preparation for donor report writing, adherence with project requirements and timelines, and timely submission of sub-grantee reports;

• Assist in ensuring that project sub-awards related administrative processes and procedures are regularly implemented and are consistent with overall project approaches, including pre-award compliance checks, agreements, disbursements, reporting and partner capacity-building;

• Work with program & operations departments in ensuring that relevant donor procurement and financial rules are followed for sub-awards;

• Implement and administer ALIGHT systems for Internal Control, Compliance, and Accounting data processing and financial reporting functions in accordance with donor’s regulations.

• Ensure local taxation law requirement are fully complied with. Strong command over MS Excel/ spreadsheet is highly desired.

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Education: Minimum MBA Finance/ ACCA Complete or Masters in finance related subjects.
• Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in relevant field.
• Good communication skills.
• Can handle pressure.
• Technical knowledge and practical experience with international/National humanitarian programming.
• Experience with program development, design, monitoring, evaluation and proposal writing.
• Experience working with donors, international and national NGOs, and government agencies; good interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Patience, tolerance, respect for national staff, local partners and counterparts.
• Ability to live and work in a difficult environment.
• Sense of humor and ability to handle stress.
• Ability to work in a participatory manner using international standards and approaches.
• Demonstrated writing, editing, and analytical skills; ability to communicate clearly and efficiently.
• Strong leadership, management, and coordination skills.
