Activity:&nbsp;Training on disaster preparedness for Government line ministries<br />
Duration:&nbsp; 5 days total with 2 training days</p>
<p>Background &amp; Purpose <br />
Training on disaster preparedness for Government line ministries of District Mansehra is an important activity that will build their capacity regarding disaster management. It is also a good opportunity for World Vision to liaise with government officials regarding this sector. This event will enable the participants to conceptualize the importance of disaster preparedness and different approaches that can be used in disasters.</p>
<p>The trainer will incorporate the following topics in the training event.</p>
<p>&bull;&nbsp;Disaster management terminology<br />
&bull;&nbsp;Importance of disaster management.<br />
&bull;&nbsp;Community based disaster management and different approaches of disaster management.<br />
&bull;&nbsp;Disasters and their impact on development<br />
&bull;&nbsp;Gender and disaster<br />
&bull;&nbsp;Contingency planing<br />
&bull;&nbsp;District Disaster Management Authority &amp; its role and responsibilities.</p>
<p>Terms &amp; Conditions</p>
<p>&bull;&nbsp;The contract will be for 5 days and the trainer will conduct training on two agreed upon consecutive dates.<br />
&bull;&nbsp;The training will be conducted at a venue selected by WVP in Mansehra or Abbottabad<br />
&bull;&nbsp; The training will be conducted from 8:30 AM to 05:00 PM. Transportation to the venue and preparation for the day must be done outside of these stated times<br />
&bull;&nbsp;The trainer will be responsible for facilitating the entire training and will create a positive learning environment for the participants according to their level of understanding.<br />
&bull;&nbsp;A final report and feedback on the training will be provided to the Sustainable Livelihoods Recovery Project Coordinator no later than 03 days after the completion of the training. It will include the following:<br />
o&nbsp;Daily signed lists of participants who attended the training, who participated regularly and completed the full training. <br />
o&nbsp;Confirmation of training times or an explanation as to why the agreed upon training times were not adhered to.<br />
o&nbsp;A summary of the level of knowledge of participants before and after the training related to the specific topics discussed (written pre and post test completed by participants will be annexed in the report).<br />
o&nbsp;A detailed description of the contents of the training (and material which was used attached as an annex)<br />
o&nbsp;A summary of how the training was received by the participants<br />
o&nbsp;Any challenges that may encountered during the process and how they were addressed.<br />
o&nbsp;Opportunities that should be included in future if the training was to be replicated<br />
&bull;&nbsp;Any issues which are identified in the training are the responsibility of the trainer to resolve whenever possible and to inform WVP of the problem and the resolution.<br />
&bull;&nbsp;If required by WVP (due to weather constraints, security problems or other scheduling conflicts) the training days may be shifted to another available date within the consultancy period (including weekends).<br />
&bull;&nbsp;The trainer will agree to be available on any day during the consultancy agreement and will not agree to any other consultancy work offered by another organization during this time.<br />
&bull;&nbsp;The trainer will be paid in terms of a cheque for the agreed remuneration in Pakistani rupees (PKR). This payment will be released in one installment after the completion of the 02 training days and the approval of the training report by WVP. <br />
&bull;&nbsp;The training sessions will be conducted by the master trainer in Urdu or English for the understanding and convenience of the participants.<br />
&bull;&nbsp;The trainer will be responsible for the producing the training material while World Vision will cover stationary cost associated with the participants and other presentation material (Multi media equipment, flip board etc). The trainer is required to submit a list with required material and quantities at least 3 days prior to the training.<br />

In close collaboration with the Communications Manager, the Senior Communications Officer is responsible for developing effective key communications resources about World Vision Pakistan integrated programmes, ensuring a child-focused approach, for distribution to audiences within World Vision Partnership, and Pakistan (communities, local governmental partners, NGOs, etc). </strong></p>

&bull;&nbsp;Produce timely and compelling communications resources (written and photographic) and marketing materials for the World Vision Partnership, and ensure their effective distribution via internal communications channels.<br />
