Purpose of the post

The ICRC Medical officer responsible will work in the ICRC supported health facilities in Tribal districts in close collaboration with the Tribal district health authorities and health staff to improve the quality of health care in the supported areas. Main tasks are to contribute to the analysis of the gaps in terms of the secondary health care and propose possible solutions (management of human resources, drugs, equipment, training plan, procurement process and other activities related to the ICRC supported areas) and conduct regular field visit and monitor activities in supported areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the Head of Secondary Health Care in analysing operational challenges- offers tangible solutions aimed at improving quality of health care.

  • Supports the Head of Secondary Health Care in developing and implementation of secondary health care project model in Tribal districts.

  • Monitors quality, relevance and implementation of the ICRC supported health activities, under the guidance of the Head of Secondary health of ICRC Peshawar Sub-delegation.

  • Works in collaboration with Tribal districts health authorities and PRC medical teams involved in Emergency response.

  • Contributes to the running of the health project in general to meet the objectives of the project.

  • Facilitates collaboration with the different stakeholders involved in the M&E plan and management meetings.

  • Monitor and evaluate the project using Result Based Management (RBM) tool.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid medical degree as per Pakistan Medical Dental Council with Public Health Background.

  • Minimum 04 years humanitarian work experience in a similar field of activity.

  • Good knowledge of public health, and local health services, staff and system.

  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English.

  • Good interpersonal communication skills.

  • Very good computer literacy.

  • Good rigor, method and analytical skills.

  • Management skills.
