Position Overview:
BGP Engineer overlooking Inbound and Outbound Traffic Engineering for IP Transit Traffic. Interfaces with Network Architecture and Engineering to primarily oversee IGP and BGP in a very large Autonomous System.  Troubleshoots complex network / routing issues affecting Quality of Experience in the network and works with multiple teams to identify bottlenecks and routing issues.  Communicates effectively and continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience and knowledge in the following disciplines:
  • Relevant work experience as typically acquired in 6 to 8 years.
  • Network infrastructure to include converged IP networks, WLAN, WAN/MAN, LAN, VPN/Firewall.
  • TCP/IP and OSI model.
  • Routing protocols – IS-IS, OSPF, BGP and EIGRP.
  • FR/ATM, PPP, HDLC, MLPPP and VLAN.
  • DS3/T3, DS1/T1, FAST E, Gig E, 10 Gig E.
  • 100GigE.
  • MPLS and BGP experience desired.
  • Service Provider Experience Desired.
  • CCNP/CCIE Certification is a Plus.
  • IEEE, TIA/EIA Standards desired.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Handle multiple complex projects.
  • Act as an advisor or mentor to junior colleagues.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Effectively communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others in a team environment.
