Position: Social Organiser (Female)
Location: Tehsil Talagang, District Chakwal, Pakistan

Job Overview:

The position of Social Organizer is to form closer relation with targeted communities, local health officials at community level, and education department. The SO will facilitate eye health screening activities, arrange community meetings, establish relations with community leaders and provide project information in an organized and timely manner to communities and other stakeholders at grass root level in the District of Chakwal.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Mobilize communities and arrange for eye health screening activities
• Develop a working relationship with community elders, local bodies elected representatives, lady health workers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of the project
• Be part of the survey(s) conducted during the project and also supervise enumerators when required
• Facilitate the process of selection of beneficiaries as per the agreed criteria
• Maintain proper project activities record, document learning(s) and submit regular reports as and when required by the Program Officer
• Be a focal point to receive complaints from the communities, resolve complaint and document closure of complaint
• Assist Program Officer in arranging field logistic and other activities
• Be responsible for maintaining vehicle log, prepare travel plan and ensure efficient and professional use of vehicle in the field
• Provide counseling to clients with refractive errors, and keep proper follow up of the cases
• Facilitate Project staff in capturing success stories and key learning depicting impact of the project activities
• Provide data and assistance to data entry operator in data punching
• Any other duty assigned by the Principal / DG

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:
Master in social sciences / sociology, Diploma in Ophthalmic technician course would be an added advantage

Professional Experience:

Is local and understand the dynamics of the community
• Have minimum of three years experience preferably in health related project

Specific skills/Competencies:

Strong knowledge of English Language (Verbal, Written), understanding and speaking of working Punjabi / Potohari is essential. Capacity to work under pressure and manage conflict. Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner Honest and feels accountable towards the communities the project is implemented for.
