Position Title: District Project Coordinator

Location: Lahore

Purpose of Position:

District Project Coordinator will provide support to implement district specific communication action plan through active participation in community-based / online activities. In order to provide support advocacy efforts, District Project Coordinator will also establish close contact with relevant government institutions / departments and other stakeholders to identify and propose possible opportunities to enhance collaboration at district level for sustainable development. While working under the supervision of Manager Communications and Community Engagement, District project coordinator will also identify effective communication channels, forums and potential stakeholders (Individuals, Institutions) in the local context of the area for future or ongoing intervention. 

Main Responsibilities:

1.     To ensure the implementation of district level communication action plans for social mobilization and advocacy through active participation in all proposed activities at district level.

2.     To coordinate and liaison with relevant departments / organizations at district level on behalf of the organization.

3.     To evaluate and assess comprehensiveness of the communication activities planned at district level for effective social and behavioral change.

4.     To provide immediate feedback to implementing partners (IPs) and their field staff (district coordinators and community mobilizers) to ensure quality work in order to achieve program objectives.

5.     To provide technical support in monitoring of IP’s led activities for corrective action, as well as assist in the capacity building of partners on communication activities, where needed.

6.     To identify gaps, propose appropriate solutions keeping in view the local context, utilizing effective communication channels for social mobilization and advocacy activities.  

7.     To develop weekly , Monthly & Quarterly and final report of the activities

8.      To identify and repot success stories from the field reflecting social and behavioral change at individual / societal level 

9.     To perform any other task assigned by the line manager and senior management of PPC.

Requirements/Selection-Criteria (Education, Experience, Skills, Languages etc.)

1.     University degree in one or more of the following disciplines: communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Anthropology, sociology or any other social sciences subject.

2.     Knowledge / experience in community based interventions, communication approaches, media handling, social mobilization and advocacy work.

3.     Ability to perform under pursuer situations, remote area, takes initiatives according to situation and performs as team player.

4.     Must have experience of coordination and communication with relevant departments, key influential at district level.

5.     Must have strong communication skills to guide and support implementing partner’s in engaging key community influential, students, academia and other high-level officials.

6.     Knowledge about planning, executing and evaluation of communication action plans at provincial/ district level.

7.     High sense of responsibility to take initiative and good judgment in dealing with staff members, partners and other stakeholders.

8.     Excellent report writing and analytical skills to report communication activities implemented by the IPs.

9.     Fluency in English and Urdu languages is required; working knowledge of local areas languages is highly desirable.
