Senior Program Development Officer

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Expansion

• Track and identify funding opportunities from the web/funding portals/Networking
• Web search on funding trends to inform program design
• Support in groundwork and background research for proposal development
• Summarize organizations' experience on thematic areas for specific proposals
• Developing sections of proposals
• Ensure proposals meet donor format and requirements
• Review and editing of proposals
• Assist in developing project presentations for meetings and donor visits
• Assist Senior Managers in planning and organizing team/donor/partner meetings
• Developing programmatic/Thematic information pieces for organization and donors
• Communicate with donors/consultants/staff on behalf of DRD when requested

Program Documentation

• Assist in reviewing project reports, including editing, ensuring consistency in information, fulfilling format and grant agreement guidelines
• Ensure reports reflect analysis and outcome level information
• Coordination with teams for quality content and refining reports
• Assist in develop TORs/MOUs for consultants
• Assist in editing training brochures and other project materials
• Analysis of programmatic data to derive trends and other interesting information
• Developing programmatic/Thematic information pieces for organization and donors
• Develop learning papers based on organizations' programming
• Support in note taking for meetings

Broader Organizational Engagement

• Support in maintaining centralized system of information on projects/proposals
• Assist in institutionalization of systems and practices
• Organize documentation for donor requirements when needed.
• Develop case studies on organization initiatives
• Develop thematic papers/writeups, learning papers, position papers, strategy pieces etc
• Support in training/seminar/conference design and implementation upon request
• Support in networking with academia, funding organizations, media platforms when required
• Represent organization at national/global level when required

Technical Competencies:

• Excellent English writing skills, with some experience in technical proposal and report writing
• Ability to develop goals, objectives, indicators, outputs and outcomes etc
• Ability to capture lessons learned for reporting purposes
• Proactive in communication and information sharing
• Able to work with a participatory project design work approach
• Skilled at proofing and editing reports/proposals etc
• Good communication and coordination skills, and ability to work in teams

The Senior Program Development Officer must be tolerant and sensitive to needs of religious and ethnic minorities, women, children and the poor.

In the absence of the supervisor, the Senior Program Development Officer must have the confidence, initiative, patience and integrity to work independently.

The Senior Program Development Officer is required to follow Organization's Accountability Framework and its commitment to the Codes of Conduct practiced by the organisation. She/he must commitment to the organisation mission and values and for working in accordance to her/his job expectations.
